THE CREATION ERA

On a distant world by the name of Xenna, creatures were conceived with immense power called Archons.  These incredible beings were the Divine's most cherished creations.  Their powers allowed them to terraform the world and rule lower creatures how they saw fit.  Their powers soon became their undoing.  The world was being torn asunder by the bickering Archons.  The Divine stepped in and assigned each a particular task.  They were to rule and control over only a portion of the world.  As the Archons continued their work, they soon became too complacent in dealing with the affairs of their subjects.  They asked the Divine for helpers.  Each Archon was to have a few apprentices called Scions.  The Archons and Scions continued to grow in power, their immortality allowing them to continue to hone their impressive powers.  Afraid of what they may become and too loving to kill them, the Divine sought out a new project.

A blue planet awaited new races.  The Divine created two races, Man and Mer.  He created them in the image of himself and likeness of the Archons.  However, he did not give them the same power nor immortality.  He only gave them a fraction, hoping that limited power would prevent them from becoming what the Archons and Scions became.  He hoped the two races would become allies and balance each other out.  While Man lacked the natural inclination to energy they possessed incredible intellect, ingenuity, and craft.  The Mer; however, were blessed with the natural ability to use energy but lacked in the physical and logic of Man.  

Unfortunately, the Divine's hope began to fade.  The two races immediately collided, claiming love for the Divine over the other.  Unwilling to see the races destroy each other, the Divine created two more races.  The far magically superior Xelna and the adaptive and strong Dakkan.  He hoped that the split would divert tensions more evenly.  The Divine's plan worked for now...
